Day 01: Airport - Sigiriya

Arrival to Colombo; representatives of Travel Treasures Sri Lanka will warmly welcome our guests at the Airport and proceed to transfer to Sigiriya.

En Route, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage: (2.5 hrs drive)

The aim of the orphanage is to simulate a natural habitat to these elephants. The elephants are taken to the river twice a day for a bath, and all the babies less than three years of age are still bottle fed by the mahouts and volunteers.

Thereafter, proceed to Sigiriya (2.5 hrsdrive).

Lion’s Rock Sigiriya: A gigantic ancient megalithic Sri Lankan rock located near the city of Dambulla. It is a spectacular 200 meters high natural formation that, at its top, preserves the ruins of an ancient fortified palace. This archaeological site loved by tourists is recognized was a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 and is considered by locals as the “eighth wonder of the world”.

Day 02: Sigiriya - Trincomalee

Pidurangala Rock: An incredible 360-degree viewpoint located opposite the world-famous Sigiriya Lion Rock. Hiking to the top is possible for both of these rocks and you get an incredible view of Lion’s Rock itself, which is really special!

Dambulla Cave Temples: A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. The Buddhist mural paintings are of particular importance, as are the 157 statues.

Village Tour: Gives you a memorable experience in a countryside rural village in Sigiriya. You will enjoy the sightseeing of paddy fields, bullock cart ride, traditional catamaran ride in a lake, visit to a chena cultivation, traditional cooking demonstration in a rural village house and authentic Sri Lankan lunch during this tour.

Proceed to Trincomalee by evening (2 hrs drive).

Day 03: Trincomalee

Fort Federick: This important historical landmark with an imposing entrance is a must-do for history and nature enthusiasts when you visit Trincomalee. While the history is interesting, the presence of freely-roaming spotted deer adds charm to the stroll through this fort. Built by the Portuguese, Fort Fredrick is partly under military occupation and also houses a famous Buddhist vihara and sacred Hindu temple.

Maritime Museum: Located in a beautifully restored 17th century Dutch mansion, this informative museum offers important insights into Sri Lankan maritime history. Amongst the most interesting places to visit in Trincomalee, the ground floor takes you through the country’s naval history dating back from Marco polo’s time with models depicting naval scenes and some video presentations.

Pigeon Island National Park: Comprising of two small islands, the national park is home to the endangered rock pigeons, vibrant marine life and stunning rock formations. The powdery white sands, glittering rock pools and the shallow turquoise waters make this a memorable trip, along with ample snorkeling opportunities right off the beach.

Day 04: Trincomalee - Arugam Bay

Proceed to Arugam Bay (3 hrs drive).

Arugam Bay is a world-renowned coastal destination located on the southeast coast of Sri Lanka in the Ampara District. It is famous for its stunning beaches, laid-back atmosphere, and exceptional surf breaks, making it a magnet for surfers, backpackers, and nature lovers alike.

Its main surf point, Main Point, is famous for its consistent right-hand breaks, especially during the surf season from May to September.

Other popular surf spots nearby include Whiskey Point, Pottuvil Point, and Peanut Farm.

Beaches and Relaxation:

The area has a variety of beachfront cafés and accommodations, catering to travelers looking for both budget and luxury option.The bay’s pristine, crescent-shaped beach is perfect for relaxing, sunbathing, and enjoying the tropical vibe.

Day 05: Arugam Bay

Wildlife and Nature:

Nearby wildlife sanctuaries, such as Kumana National Park, Lahugala National Park, and Gal Oya National Park offer opportunities to see elephants, leopards, and migratory birds.

Cultural Attractions:

Visit the Muhudu Maha Viharaya, an ancient Buddhist temple located on the beach.

The Magul Maha Viharaya in Lahugala is another historical Buddhist site worth exploring.

Nightlife and Community:

While Arugam Bay maintains a relaxed vibe, it has a vibrant social scene during the tourist season, with beach parties, live music, and gatherings.

Day 06: Arugam Bay - Ella

After Breakfast, check out and proceed to Ella (3.5-4 hrs drive).

Ella is a quiet hill country town that draws visitors to its cool climate and its picturesque setting deep in the heart of the ‘up country’. Ella is has become one of the major tourist hotspots of Sri Lanka and it is largely due to the epic scenery and hikes in the region such as Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak. The little town of Ella is far from a scenic stopover, but a truly charming and beautiful haven to spend a few relaxing days of fresh mountain air and unforgettable vistas.

Nine Arch Bridge: The beautiful nine arches makes the bridge a very picturesque spot especially as it is located in a dense jungle and agricultural setting. Behind the railway, a forest is booming, and below, tea leaves are being cultivated.

Day 07: Ella

Ravana Zip Line: The two-wire zip-line stretches for more than half a kilometer, slides at 80kmph, and offers a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful hills of the island.

Little Adam’s Peak: Gradually with an easy hike up to the mountain of Little Adams Peak you can enjoy a panoramic view. It will be priceless if you could visit the place in the morning when the clouds roll in. You have to walk through lush green tea plantations, waterfalls and paddy fields while enjoying the sceneries.

Ravana Waterfall: Ranked as one of the widest falls in the country, Ravana falls have been named after the legendary character Ravana, which is connected to the famous Indian epic, the Ramayana. The falls are quite impressive, and you can climb over some of the rocks to get a closer look.

Day 08: Ella - Colombo

After breakfast, proceed towards Colombo (5 hrs drive).

Enjoy a city tour of Colombo and/or Shopping.

Sri Lanka’s former capital city, Colombo is easily the largest metropolis in the country. It is still the commercial and entertainment hub with many corporate buildings, restaurants, shopping malls, spas, hotels and nightclubs. If you want to have an active urban nightlife and do a spot of shopping then Colombo is your place. Viharamahadevi park, Colombo Colonial building, Fort area, Old Parliament, Pettah Red Mosque, Pettah market, Siva Temple, St.Anthony’s Shrine,

Diyatha Uyana, Independence square, green path art works, national museum, Gangaramaya Temple, Lotus tower and Galle Face Green are the places you can visit during your Colombo city tour.

Day 09: Colombo - Airport

 Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport to catch your flight back home accompanied with all the happy memories of the tropical isle; Sri Lanka, also known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean.

A booking confirmation will reach you after 48 hours of making the payment. The remaining payment is required, seven days prior to the tour start date. Then you may go ahead with applying for Visa.

*Cancellation Policy*
Once the passport copies are shared, your booking is considered as confirmed. There will be no refund for Cancellations made within less than 30 days from the start of a tour and for No-show.
